Grassroots organizing by corporations to become actively engaged in the political decision-making process: The authors argue that by becoming involved in helping to shape the outcome of public policy decisions, a business can enhance not only its own bottom line, but also the opportunity to remain a viable contributor to the economy of the communities it serves. Engaging allies to help shape the debate also eliminates the charge that the corporate view of an issue is totally self-serving as the allies make the case that the business view is one that is shared by many in the community.
